Después de una serie de siete libros, ocho películas y varias adaptaciones a videojuegos, el universo mágico de Harry Potter todavía guarda mucho nuevo que ofrecer. En el año 2021 se espera la llegada de un nuevo título, Hogwarts Legacy, ambientado 100 años antes de la llegada de los protagonistas de la saga a la escuela de magia y hechicería. Un juego del que todavía se sabe muy poco pero que ya ha creado mucha expectación entre la audiencia más fiel a la franquicia.
El lanzamiento de Hogwarts Legacy
El mundo creado por J. K. Rowling se ha convertido, pese a las controversias, en uno de los más queridos por el público y más explotados por la industria. A día de hoy resulta una de las franquicias más lucrativas, que van desde el merchandising más básico a los parques temáticos más concurridos en todo el planeta. No cabe duda de que cualquier novedad en torno a Harry Potter trae consigo un éxito casi asegurado, más aún cuando sus fanáticos buscan constantemente nuevas formas de descubrir su universo.
En este contexto, el lanzamiento de un videojuego basado en Hogwarts no ha hecho más que despertar la emoción de la audiencia, ávida por nuevas experiencias.
Lo poco que se sabe es que Hogwarts Legacy llegará en 2021. Algunos rumores apuntan al día 31 de marzo como fecha clave, aunque no hay confirmación al respecto. También se especula con que el juego se estrene de forma paralela a la tercera parte de la trilogía Animales Fantásticos, que está prevista para noviembre del mismo año.
En cuanto a las plataformas disponibles, Hogwarts Legacy saldrá para PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X y Xbox Series S. Por el momento se desconoce su compatibilidad con Nintendo Switch y Google Stadia.
El desarrollo corre a cargo de la compañía Avalanche Software, responsable de los videojuegos de The Walt Disney Company adquirida por Warner Bros.
Las características del videojuego
Hogwarts Legacy será un videojuego de mundo abierto en el que se podrá seleccionar y customizar al personaje protagonista, incluyendo su aspecto, su género y su casa en Hogwarts. Se espera que además de la icónica escuela de magia y hechicería, sea posible explorar otros escenarios reconocidos de la saga como Diagon Alley o Hogsmeade.
A lo largo de la experiencia de juego, el gamer deberá ir desarrollando su habilidad en todas las disciplinas impartidas en la escuela, incluyendo el manejo y la interacción con criaturas fantásticas.

Teorías acerca de su argumento y temática
Por lo pronto se sabe que Hogwarts Legacy estará ambientado 100 años antes de la llegada del mismo Harry Potter a Hogwarts, a finales del siglo XIX. Este punto temporal en el universo de la saga ha generado muchas teorías y especulaciones que apuntan a varias subtramas nunca antes exploradas.
Buena parte de la audiencia cree que el argumento del videojuego podría girar en torno al personaje villano Owle Bullock, el autor del libro Secretos de las artes más oscuras que Voldemort usó para aprender a esconder su alma en los horrocruxes.
Otros creen, en cambio, que la trama podría basarse en los primeros años de Albus Dumbledore como alumno en la escuela de magia.
Ante la falta de información, solo queda esperar a nuevos trailers y avances del videojuego. Algo que, por lo menos, está llenando de expectativas a un público cada vez más impaciente.
